SO! first update in a WHILE. these were taken months months months ago. i've begun exploring and/or exploiting conceptual photography quite a bit more, and this entry is a perfect example. conceptual art is centered around the interpretations of the viewer, so i'll leave the meaning of these to your lofty and overactive imaginations :)

I took a trip recently to the Dominican Republic, probably around early July. It was one of the most cultured and truly happy places I have ever had the chance to see. I doubt most of you would ever go there, so here is a taste of all that I experienced. These pictures were taken on a bus ride to Downtown, Santo Domingo, and I must say, the poverty and horrible conditions I saw made one hell of a lasting impression. Even though these people endure such treacherous lives, they managed to keep such an upbeat and happy perspective on everything, which inspired me enormously. I hope these pictures give you at least a slight idea of all the horrid conditions that the Dominicans experience everyday of thier lives, and make you realize all that you have and should be thankful for.
